Finding your inspirations.

This is a bit of a strange blog but sometimes I forget what made me decide to take the path I took and the path I’m on and the direction I am going in.

My earliest memory of a teacher would be my reception teacher, she was most definitely one of the kindest teachers I can remember. She showed me so much kindness and started that love for learning and wanting to be in school.

As I progressed throughout school and especially into secondary school I began to think nobody cared a lot of this came from home and how I was treated. It impacted how I viewed the world and I definitely felt that teachers didn’t care. Obviously a lot of teenagers feel this way.

Today I found some of my old stuff from secondary school and reading through some reports from secondary school and while my reports remained the same in terms of how I behaved myself and how I worked. I did notice in their recommendations as I went through school. It didn’t mean my parents listened to any of them especially when it came to help for my GCSE’s. Even when teachers said about revision guides I was told they were a waste of time and if I was offered any I was told we are not a charity case. I think this has helped me in a lot of ways though. I’m definitely more understanding to children who may have it that bit tougher and do try to respect their emotional and social needs.

I’m definitely inspired by the amazing staff in my current job. Each and everyone of them bring something to the children they work with and help them to be the best that they can be. One of the biggest things that inspire me is how the staff the children opportunities to learn in ways that is more suitable to them where possible. This has inspired me to be a better person and improve my own practice.

I love the journey that I am on in the school and I definitely think with their support I will be a pretty useful teacher.

As always stay safe and be kind.
