Lockdown 2

So after taking the weekend to digest the latest government restrictions. I have to say that I am relieved to still be able to go to work. So Many people are now facing the prospect of unemployment before the year is out. I cannot even begin to imagine how they must be feeling. With Christmas around the corner and families already struggling due to the effects of the previous lockdown I think this year we need to make the extra effort to be nicer. We never know what a person is going through and how tough they find each andd every day.

We also need to consider children in all of this. They must be so scared especially the ones who know their parents are already struggling. It’s not just how they are coping with the immediate effects but also the long term effects. Now is the time to really get children talking about feelings and letting them know it’s okay to be scared. I think if we all think about it we are all a bit scared if all of this. Whether it’s not being able to see family members or fearing being in lockdown without any support.

This year I am not really going to do much for Christmas. I’ve got a few gifts for some people. But I’m not going big on anything this year and instead will donate to the local food bank and deliver some gifts to the salvation army who will know the best place for the gifts to go to.

As always stay safe and look after each other
